Fabrication Project Management

We help realize technical, architecturally-integrated artworks. We can continue work with existing fabricators or establish relationships with new fabricators. Our fabrication oversight services include: design and materials research, drafting and negotiating fabrication agreements, specification writing, directing detailed design, inspecting mockups, reviewing the final work for conformance with design specifications, and overseeing installation and commissioning. 

Commission Project Management

We help secure, set up, and administer artwork commission projects. Our holistic approach involves frequent and precise communication between artist, client, and fabricator to ensure alignment during all project stages. Our commission project management services include: proposal design, interview assistance, fabricator pre-qualification, budget estimation and cost control, schedule creation and administration, drafting and negotiating commission and fabrication agreements, qualifying and engaging contractors, and overseeing fabrication and installation.

Exhibition Planning and Administration

We help plan and execute exhibitions within museums and galleries. We can become involved in any stage of planning and execution. We help form installation plans and mockups, specify installation instructions, create and administer schedules, negotiate exhibition contracts, oversee installation, direct catalogue design, and serve as the main contact with the organizing institution.

Strategic Planning / Operations Assessments

We assess studio systems, procedures, staff roles, gallery relationships, and fabrication relationships and recommend optimizations so they conform with industry best practices and meet the goals established at the beginning of the visioning exercise. The deliverable is a report with written recommendations that take the form of a roadmap for executing the agreed-upon goals.

Gallery Relationship Management

We help set up and maintain relationships with primary galleries. We help prepare and update consignment agreements, maintain a balanced inventory of consigned works, perform annual condition inspections of artworks on consignment, and invoice for artworks upon sale.

Database Design and Maintenance

We assist with creating, maintaining, and overhauling artwork inventory databases across all major platforms. Whether creating a database for the first time or improving the integrity of an existing system, we create organized, accurate data sets. We have experience designing custom FileMaker Pro databases and creating and maintaining databases within Artlogic and ArtSystems.

Photo and Video Documentation

We provide photographic and videographic documentation of individual artworks and installations through our network of expert photographers and videographers. All work is conducted on a work-for-hire basis so creators maintain unencumbered rights to use the documentation.

Graphic Design

We visualize future artworks and codify installations. Our designers mock up artworks to help test a variety of scales and refine a concept. We can work closely with fabricators to facilitate decisions about scale, material, and construction technique. Our graphic design services also include proposal and collateral design.
